Good Stock Detroit
Overview
Good Stock is a community development organization that aims to amplify resident voice, spur housing and commercial development, and catalyze other economic investments in the neighborhoods bounded by:
Gratiot/I-94 (North)
Mack Ave to the (South)
St. Jean (East)
Van Dyke (West)
Our Purpose
To build community capacity so that neighbors can target and plan for themselves and their neighborhood in a sustainable and achievable way. The purpose of this committee is to establish a resident-led anchor in the community to plan, drive equitable development, spur authentic collaboration with the city of Detroit in order to advocate for city services and prompt response time, and to effectively engage stakeholders toward the revitalization of the neighborhood.
Steering Committee
Charge
The Good Stock Steering Committee will steer and influence a small neighborhood-level planning process that will lead to implementable strategies focused on housing preservation (e.g., resources for home repair); land ownership (e.g., equitable side lot sales); blight remediation (e.g., beautification projects); and other priorities as identified by community stakeholders engaged toward the benefit of the residents in this area.

Neighborhood Resilience
+
Health Equity Planning Survey
This two-year neighborhood project is about planning for thriving communities that are healthier and more resilient when facing challenges related to climate, health, and other pressures. This project will result in actionable steps for neighborhoods that benefit existing residents and communities of color while building on existing assets and advocating for resources to support residents. The focus area of this work is the Good Stock neighborhood and Southwest Detroit.
